Read Between the Lines of Code (2016)

Within the debate on the role of technology in everyday human life, critics are increasingly pessimistic as machines and digitalisation seemingly de-socialise people. This thesis looks at free and open source software development and at the individual and communal learning methods that flow from these technological practices.

Read Between the Lines {of Code} calls into question how technology is potentially flowing from, towards and in between individuals. Studying technological practices, rather than the technologies themselves shows how they are inherently social and cultural.
